Industry Day on Quantum Technology

Wednesday, 10 September 2025, 14:00 - 17:00

The Industry Day on Quantum Technology, held in a new format, will highlight the achievements made in recent years within the emerging field of quantum technologies, often referred to as Quantum 2.0. Leading national and international companies in this field will present their product concepts to the physics community gathered in Göttingen through conference contributions. The programme will be fully tailored to the needs of industry. By specifically inviting funding organisations (VDI, DLR, BMBF, BMWK and so on) and venture capitalists, the event will provide a holistic perspective. The afternoon aims to provide a comprehensive overview of diverse approaches.

For companies, this is an opportunity to present themselves as potential employers, as well as to opinion leaders, funding bodies, and potential investors, showcasing their technological advancements and market readiness. A subsequent panel discussion will controversially debate key framework conditions, such as international collaboration, central academic interfaces and partnerships, hiring international staff, and the implications of increasingly stringent export controls. It is essential that all submitted contributions and speakers clearly highlight the quantum-technological context of their activities. Presentations will therefore be delivered by experts from the companies themselves. Beyond physics, the unique commercial challenges faced by industrial enterprises, particularly in early stages, should be addressed to spark conversations with participants.

The day will conclude with a Public Evening Talk by Heike Riel, the designated DPG President.

(Corporate) Contributions (15 minutes + 5 minutes discussion) for this Industry Day can be submitted via the abstract submission, following the same procedure as for academic contributions, under the categories Quantum-Enabling, Quantum Simulation and Computing, Quantum Sensing and Metrology, and Quantum Communication.

Submissions will be integrated into a curated conference programme, supplemented by directly invited experts providing introductory overview lectures.
